Purpose Clinical Counselling provides professional online counselling for adults and couples throughout British Columbia. I’m Sam Duran, MAMFT, RCC, a Registered Clinical Counsellor with a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy.
I support adults dealing with trauma and difficult past experiences, anxiety, depression, grief, burnout, intrusive thoughts, relationship difficulties, and significant life changes. I also work with couples experiencing communication difficulties, recurring conflict, emotional disconnection, infidelity, betrayal trauma, and challenges with rebuilding trust.
My approach is collaborative and responsive to each client’s needs and goals. Depending on what brings you to counselling, I draw from EMDR, Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT), the Gottman Method, trauma-focused cognitive behavioural approaches, and trauma-informed practice.
Counselling is not about reducing your experiences to a diagnosis or label. My aim is to provide a respectful space where you can better understand what you are experiencing, examine patterns that may be affecting your life or relationships, and explore meaningful possibilities for change. Faith and spirituality can also be incorporated into counselling when this is important to you.
All appointments are provided online, making services available to adults and couples throughout British Columbia. A complimentary 30-minute initial consultation is available to discuss what brings you to counselling, answer your questions, and determine whether working together feels like a good fit.
